Welcome your guests to a home away from home with a hotel-like guest room. This design style is not recommended for guests you wish to have a short stay. ;)
This room started with all the key pieces (bed, side tables, and dressers) the client had purchased. However, she didn't know what to do to give it that wow factor she desired.
First, we defined the focus of the bedroom with the bed. I almost always recommend making the bed the focal point in the bedroom unless you are overly blessed enough to have a ocean or mountain view or some type of amazing architectural feature within the room. In this case, we created the architectural interest with the white wainscoting wall and added drama with the uses of navy, crystal, and polished nickel.
The challenge in the room was one window that was much smaller than the other. To camouflage the tiny window, I dressed it the same as the other larger window and Ta-Da! Two windows that appear the same even though one is quite lacking.
Overall, this room is glamorous yet welcoming and all guests enjoy overstaying their welcome here!
