Mirrors are one of my favorite items to use in a room design. A mirror does so much. It adds dimension to a lifeless room, can create architectural interest and balance, and is one of the most versatile decor items that exist.
But best of all, they reflect! Place one opposite a beautiful view and it will provide you with a duplicate of that same beautiful view.

Place one in a dark room, and suddenly there is more light reflected around the space.
And when we look into a mirror, it reflects our image. Although I can easily scrutinize my image: I look tired, another wrinkle, sigh, and I wish I was more (fill in the blank with issue of the day), this causes me to get caught up in my own issues and shortcomings.
As I "reflect" on what truly matters, I realize I desire more than a beautiful image. I desire to reflect love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness. To be good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. Of course, these things don't always come naturally. I must choose them. Choose to model them day after day until they become more and more a part of who I am.
When we each chose to reflect the qualities above, not only will our mirrors and our homes be beautiful, but so will we!
But we all, with unveiled faces, beholding in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)
